APT9
Exhibition story

A photograph of a woman wearing a blue blouse and holding fruit against a yellow background. We only see from her nose to her elbows, and red fruit juice runs from her mouth.

‘The 9th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art’

This Digital Story is a permanent archive of artist and project profiles from APT9, a free exhibition at QAGOMA from 24 November 2018 to 28 April 2019.

The hugely ambitious APT series brings significant art from across the Asia Pacific to Brisbane. Overflowing with colour and life, this free contemporary art exhibition presents a unique mix of creativity and cross-cultural insight.

Visitors to APT9 discovered more than 400 artworks by over 80 individuals, collectives and groups that capture the energy of new art being created in Asia, the Pacific and Australia.

Alongside the exhibition were three thought-provoking film programs, eight hands-on activities for kids and five months of ongoing programs and special events, including daily guided tours.
